There is no such a word to express the experience of drifting away in the river on a dugout canoe and seeing slumbering crocodiles basking on the riverbanks and colorful kingfishers diving to catch fish. Often big mammals like rhinos, tigers, deer, and leopards are spotted during the Canoe Safari. It can either be combined with a short walking jungle safari or a visit to the Elephant Breeding Centre where one can see newly born baby elephants. Canoe Safari is one of the fun-filled activities to do in Chitwan National Park. Dugout canoes are handcrafted by tribal fishermen called Bote with a single tree trunk .
